About Ichlu re’im

The soup kitchen provides daily meals in their dining room, delivering hot nutritious meals to holocaust survivors, take-away grocery parcels, home delivered meals or groceries to those unable to come to the dining room. We also provide daily hot lunches for a local special needs school.

Ichlu Reim is now located in state-of-the-art premises at 212 Jaffa Road, in the heart of Jerusalem.

We believe that it is crucial to maintain a sense of dignity among those who eat with us. Ichlu Reim literally means "Come eat O Friends".

Ichlu Reim is a symbol of hope and compassion for our community. We ensure that all those who have fallen on hard times find relief here, enjoying delicious food in a loving family atmosphere.

Ichlu Re’im Soup Kitchen was started in 1997 in the modest home of director Uriel Malul and his wife Batsheva. The couple began by inviting a few needy individuals to eat with them in their apartment. As the news of their warmth and generosity spread, more and more people in need found their way to the Malul’s home and bigger premises were urgently needed. This has now developed into the new premises in Jaffa Road.

Ichlu Reim can cater at cost or less for special family occasions such as Bar Mitzvahs, weddings, Brit Mila.

Come, eat o’ friends!
